WCM Global Long Short Limited, formerly Contango Income Generator Limited, is an investment company. The Company’s objective is to deliver a sustainable income stream and modest capital growth to its shareholders over time. The Company’s principal activity is engaged in investment into companies listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) that are outside the top 30 largest companies and are expected to deliver a sustainable tax effective dividend stream at the time of their purchase. It is suitable for Self-managed super fund (SMSF), retirees, yield and income focused investors or any investors that are over-exposed to the top 30 large cap stocks. The company invests in a long short portfolio of global equities managed by WCM Investment Management (WCM). Target number of holdings is ~30-50 long, ~30-50 short. WLS aims to own businesses with growing competitive advantages supported by tailwinds and aligned corporate cultures, while shorting businesses with deteriorating competitive advantages, confronting headwinds and challenged corporate cultures. This process has contributed to the WCM Quality Global Long Short Equity Strategy on which WLS is based, outperforming the benchmark MSCI All Country World Index by an annualised 10.5% per annum since inception in 2014 (as at 31 July 2021).
