Vanguard Australian Government Bond Index seeks to track the return (income and capital appreciation) of the UBS Australian Government Bond Index before taking into account fees, expenses, and tax. The UBS Australian Government Bond Index is a value-weighted index of approximately 70 securities (bonds) issued by the Commonwealth Government of Australia and Australian State Government authorities and treasury corporations. Bond indices change far more quickly than share indices because bonds have a finite life (maturity). The Fund may invest in Government and Semi-Government bonds that have been or are expected to be included in the index.
